Sometimes two sentences is all it takes to make you cry.
The couple who received the very first marriage license, though, was Jane Abbott Lighty, 77, and Pete-e Peterson, 85, who have been together over 35 years. They met on a blind date in 1977 and believed they would die before they could legally wed.
If I’m going to make it a day without crying, everyone is going to need to stop talking about Jane and Pete-e for a while.

Many people who oppose marriage equality do so because they argue that gay and lesbian relationships are intrinsically unstable, so they’re no point in G&L couples getting married, because they’re just going to break up, anyway. Thank you, Jane and Pete-e, for proving them wrong.

When will the rest of America just learn to simply follow Massachusett’s lead ? 1st to toss out the British, have public schools and libraries, and about 10 years ago, a Black governor, (recently reelected, BTW) a female Atty. General, single payer universal health care for ALL residents, medical marijuana, and legalized same gender marriage for all ! And, its been illegal to be prejudice against any person based upon gender identity and preference for decades. Now, if we could just do something about this winter weather….
