For those of you new to the blog, I’m doing the AIDS/LifeCycle this summer to raise money for AIDS treatment and research. It’s a bike ride from San Francisco to L.A., 540 miles in 7 days. I’m hoping to raise $5000. If you’ve appreciated this blog or any of my videos, please consider donating — even $5 is helpful. The link to the official fundraising site is here.
I’m late with this week’s training update; it covers the 7 days ending this past Sunday.
Wednesday
- I had to take Monday and Tuesday off to let my thighs and calves recover from snowboarding. Wednesday I got on the treadmill for 45 min at a 12% grade and distance of 2.62 miles (if that seems low to you, find a treadmill and set the grade to 12%; get back to me).
Thursday
- Jog/walk with Lucas up Runyon Canyon. Time to top: 18m26s. Still not jogging the whole way.
Saturday
- Nichols Canyon bike ride in the morning: 19 miles with a 4-mile hill. Average speed: 12.6 mph (at least I’m not still stuck in the elevens).
- Runyon Canyon hike with Lucas and Will in the afternoon.
Weight
- Starting: 210#
- Current: 209#
- Goal: 190#
If you can contribute to the fundraising, I’d much appreciate it. You’ll find the donation link here.
