The three great influences on today’s Republican Party.
Here’s Ryan Sorba from CA’s Young Americans for Freedom, denouncing the CPAC convention’s inclusion of GOPride (a gay republican group).

“The lesbians at Smith College protest better than you do.”
See, it works as an insult because lesbians are gay AND female. That’s two bad things in one!
Saw this… It appears as if he has a secret he’d like to get off his chest. I hope that he accepts his homosexuality and that he learns to love himself, as God made him.
See, this is the problem with American conservatives. St. Thomas Acquinas is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT to American politics and law. We are a nation of the Protestant Reformation and the Enlightenment. We get our justificatory political theory from John Locke, whose conception of natural rights makes no reference at all to sexual conduct, but is entirely universal, as in everybody.
Wow.
A republican gay-basher.
What a shock. Let’s alert the media.
of course I heard the hoopla but never took the time to watch the clip.
I’m really appalled that this is what passes for political discourse in America. How tacky. I completely get the all the points about this guy….obviously hiding something from himself, and it seems from other accounts he was trolling around for arguments at CPAC.
But calling out audience members, saying they just created an enemy? “Bring it, bring it”? (isn’t it “bring it on” anyway)? What kind of “conference” puts up speakers that threaten their audience that way….with what really seemed like threats of physical violence. What kind of speaker is allowed on stage that then insults Smith’s lesbians like that? He should at least know those tired stereotypes make him look like such a fool.
Yes, we should point out his irrational homophobia and his stupid idea that conservatives can’t be gay, but I’m for the first time seeing how ridiculous this whole circus must have been, with the audience and speakers shouting back and forth, using inappropriate slange and threatening violence. The whole organization for this event should be shamed. And of course, this guy should be laughed off any public stage he was creating for himself.
