Birthday dinner at Larchmont Grill started with Will and me splitting their trademark macaroni and cheese (they serve it in a skillet). I had their French onion soup as well — tastes soooo good to switch back and forth. Will’s not a glutton, so he stuck with the mac and cheese as his only appetizer. With my starters, I had a glass of Benvolio Pinot Grigio.
For the entree, we both had petit filet mignon with Roqefort cheese and a port wine reduction sauce, served with sauteed mushrooms, mashed potatoes, and grilled asparagus. Will ordered his steak medium rare, but mine was quite rare and I couldn’t have been happier. The texture was amazing. It was like eating meat butter (and if that doesn’t sound good to you, then you can stick with gardenburgers). We shared a bottle of Layer Cake Cabernet.
Dessert, for both of us, was flourless chocolate cake.
In all, a lovely change from Digiorno pizza and Trader Joe’s meatloaf.

And yes, they comped the chocolate cake.
That sounds/tastes so GOOD (I visualized every bite)!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Pardon me while I wipe the drool from my keyboard….
