Loving Gays SO MUCH You Want to Send Them to Hell

Peter LaBarbera? The anti-gay who obsessively photographs gay sex (because he’s so against it), and who spreads terrible lies about gays molesting children?  He has a new definition of what it means to “love” gays in a Christian way:

Send them to Hell.

Yesterday Pete posted a video from the genuinely grotesque Molotov Mitchell.  See, Molly has gay friends.  And he considers it his duty to tell them they’re going to hell.  A number of conservative Christians think this way, and it’s actually not that hard to understand.  If you believe a friend is in danger of eternal damnation, wouldn’t you want to save him from that fate?  Peter calls Molly’s attitude, “loving a homosexual friend enough to tell him the truth.”

But there’s a problem.

Molly also believes we should put practicing gays to death.  In this video he claims it’s the only Christian thing to do.  He explicitly says “Ugandans are right” to impose a death penalty on gays.  Really, he does.  And according to conservative Christian theology, you know what happens to those who die without repenting their “sins” or accepting the conservative version of Jesus?

They go to Hell.

By the way, Molly has a long history of lying about the Uganda bill, trying to quell opposition by misrepresenting what bill says.  That makes him an active advocate of a homosexual death penalty.

This is the man Peter LaBarbera lauds as sharing “Biblical love.”  A love for his gay friends so great he wants to see them dead and in Hell.

I really wish Christians would stop giving a shit about my soul. I’ve never gotten that argument–”I don’t want you to go to hell so I’m trying to save you via oppression.” Whatever. Surely they want MORE room for themselves in heaven.

And whatever, all the fun people will be there roasting in hell with me. It’ll be a lot more fun than hanging out with celibate Jesus goblins. Buttsechs for everyone!

That’s the problem with fake “Christians” – they’re all waiting to die because they think that Heaven will be so totally awesome.

There is a part of me that would like to understand this kind of rabid, hysterical thinking. There’s another (bigger) part of me that is glad I don’t get it.

I do wonder, though, if there is any comparably, um, enthusiastic and organized Christian opposition to people who are seen out of sync with Scripture in other ways… Where is the National Organization Against Shrimp Eaters? Where is the Christian Society to Ban Polyester? Where is the rally to stone non-virginal women who marry or, for that matter, men guilty of wasting their seed? Of course, once all the rock throwing is done, who’d be left to be “saved”?

Wow… that’s – it’d be more than a little rude to retards to call that retarded wouldn’t it? How ’bout “sick and twisted”? Would that be too insulting to sick and twisted people?

When he says stuff like: the homosexual lifestyle (whatever that is supposed to mean… walking with a swinging hip and a letting your hand dangle at the wrist?) is self-destructive and dangerous… what is he talking about? What is self-destructive about it? What is dangerous about it? AIDS? (Has he some problem with safer sex? Latex forbidden by his religion or something?) The only dangers and destruction facing people “practicing the homosexual life-style” I can come up with are those created by homophobes: Violence and intolerance in school, at work, and in the family. Unless the only danger he means is that coming from that of his God that is so obsessed with what people are doing in the bed.
Speaking of Him, I also wonder what exactly is the criterion this God has for damnation… the bible quotes I remember are always about “a man lying with another man like with a women” or something like that. So… kissing and holding hands is okay, I suppose? Cross-dressing, acting camp, even groping. How about jerking off to gay porn? Or phone-sex? It’s not “lying with another man”, is it? After all, it is not having same-sex desires that makes you “sinfully gay”, is it? It’s only acting it out. That is the main message, is it not?
Either way, I am thoroughly confused about those dangers. I wish they would for once state clearly what goes and what not, and why, and provide me with the exact footnotes and gospel references.

Ah, yes, invoking both the Bible (which condemns as “abominations” oppressing the poor, taking excessive profits, usury and fixing your weights in the marketplace) and the Founding Fathers (who were by and large Deist heretics and believed African slaves were 3/5ths of a person) is always a good idea in 2010 because we haven’t learned anything.

Someone please explain to Molotov that the Bible is largely built on fabrications: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblical_archaeology

About the “evil king”, there is more here: http://sendaianonymous.wordpress.com/2010/02/21/the-evil-homosexual-king-mwanga/

Saw this anonymous comment elsewhere, “I think it is funny that a guy with a tattoo on his right forearm (Leviticus 19:28: Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD) is lecturing anyone about the taboos in the bible.”

This guy is a complete tool.

Oh and gay “lifestyles” are ultimately dangerous because they subvert gender roles. Watch this “Ted Cox: Undercover in the Ex-Gay Movement” (9 parts) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dYGXWzO29g

Man cannot lie with man as with a woman, because men don’t have vaginas. Now if man was buttfucking his woman, that might be another thing altogether, but I don’t think that’s what it meant. If you take the words literally, they make no sense at all.

AGREED, Mykelb. Perhaps it’s an abomination because it’s physically impossible to perform. Well, for most people. I don’t know how this affects the transgender folks.
