As you may know, Jesus recently destroyed a famous statue of himself with a bolt of lightning. Here’s the famous “touchdown Jesus” statue before and during its righteous smiting outside Solid Rock Church in Monroe, Ohio.
You may not know, however, that Solid Rock Church has been home to an ex-gay ministry. Is there a connection? Seems like a pretty clear sign to me.

The title should have read, “God Sends a Clear Signal to Homophobic Congregation”
Amusingly, it was directly across the street from a porn/sex shop. Now, let’s say that the store rather than Touchdown Jesus had been struck by the bolt. Can you imagine what the Amurrican Jesus Goblins would have said? “God smote the dirty satan store that was offensive in the eyes of Touchdown Jesus.”
I did smile a little bit, does that make bad?
@ BradP: Maybe God aimed for the porn shop but simply missed by a few dozend of yards. ;D
@Martin: Well, a god that claims he’s omnipotent and omniscient but who can’t aim his thunderbolts is no god at all.
And God saw the statue his fervent admirers made in 2004, and behold, it was not very good. So He burned it in 2010. Or did He?
Seeing as how God likes to be vigorously praised a lot, maybe he was fond of the statue. After all, God is not really known for having good taste – what with His accommodation of slavery and designing lions to eat zebras, for examples. So, instead of the fire being an “act of God,” maybe it was an accident or an act of Satan, in which case, why didn’t God prevent it? Was God not powerful enough? If so, then he’s not a god.
Or does God just not care? Maybe God views all that vigorous praising of Him as excessive ass-kissing. In that case it may be a sign that He’s not really an eager-to-punish nitpicking busybody with respect to human behavior. And that would mean the Super Christians are wrong about the nature of God.
The Super Christians really need to be careful how they explain the fire, since that will explain a lot about the nature of their God.
@ BradP: Don’t they say, He designed us in His image? Doesn’t that mean, He’s only human, too? I know, my aim isn’t all that hot. :p
