What always amazes me is how we let the anti-gay-marriage people operate in completely fact free universes. He has no foundation to make that claim – and it’s wrong, anyway. He has no evidence to support that.
It’s like when they say “no society has ever survived allowing gay marriage.” Really? Can they give some examples? No. And they ignore the fact that Canada/Ned/Belg/Swe/Nor/Ice/Port/Spa/SA/Arg are all chugging happily along wiht their gay marriageness.
They say “it will stop people having children,” again with no evidence.
I could go on. I just wish that people on our side would do better jobs of pointing out that their doom-and-gloom scenarios are just fiction.
Newsflash, homophobes. I don’t know HOW this got by you, as it’s just the kind of stereotype (based in some truth) that you’d normally be pedalling in, but just about every possible occupation related to weddings has gay people. Florists? Gay people. Catering? Gay people. Tux rental? Gay people. Bridal gowns? Gay people. Wedding planners? Gay people. Dance coaches? gay people.
You pretty much can’t have a wedding, any wedding, in this country without involving at least one gay person, if not an entire army of them.
That’s… just….. AWESOME!!!! I mean, really, is there a requirement that these people speak without thinking? Florists hate gays? REALLY?!?!? I guess hairdressers also hate gays. So do musicians. Just like artists hate liberals and engineers hate trekkies. What’s next? Allowing pastry chefs to discriminate against fat people?
I guess just because a few florists and bakeries have made a big deal about not serving us gay people, he reasons that they’re ALL just chomping at the bit to discriminate against us or something.
And yeah, has he never heard of that particular stereotype? Wow.
