So why are you so prejudiced against bobble-headed bigots?
I dunno if you heard/noticed, but in this ad Perry wears the exact same jacket as Heath Ledger’s character in Brokeback Mountain.
If you haven’t seen it yet, check out Stephen Colbert’s response to the Perry ad. I couldn’t stop laughing – and if I laugh to hard or too long, I have a big asthma attack on my hands. And I didn’t care. It was just too funny to me.

I’m sure you guys know by now, but Perry’s ad is now the <a href=”http://webtrends.about.com/b/2011/12/09/most-disliked-video-youtube.htm“>most disliked</a> video on YouTube, reaching 300,000 over “Friday”‘s 253,000. Not only that, but almost 11 million people have seen the “Friday,” while only 750,000 have seen Perry’s ad. That is what you call beautiful.
Another interesting tidbit that folks may already know about – the music in this ad was heavily inspired by the work of composer Aaron Copland, who was gay (and Jewish, and a communist); it’s a bit like how Santorum bit his campaign slogan off Langston Hughes…

Also, Perry’s video is not actually the most disliked video on YouTube – for example, Justin Bieber’s “Baby” has over 2 million dislikes – and the original upload of “Friday” had something like a million dislikes (the current “Friday” video is a repost). But, considering how many dislikes the Perry video has already received, I wouldn’t be surprised if it beat those numbers…

My bad–it was my understanding that “Friday” was more disliked. Maybe if you combine all dislikes they’d be closer. I guess the online news sites were as clueless as I was.
