I spend way too much time in the comments sections of conservative websites. It’s a problem. I know it. I’m getting better. Every so often, though, I get a wonderful peek into the minds of our most rabid opponents. Here’s part of a comment from one “Fabius Cunctator” proving that God wants people to have only heterosexual sex:
Homosexuals do not achieve psychological satisfaction by engaging in same-sex sex. That is the reason that homosexuals are highly promiscuous compared to heterosexuals. Homosexuals can desire sex again only one or two hours after same-sex because they are not psychologically satisfied by their sex. Heterosexuals often can go for days, weeks or months before desiring sex again because they have achieved psychological satisfaction from their last physical sex act.
See, God made straight sex soooo good that people hardly ever want it, and He made gay sex soooo bad that people want it constantly.
I don’t know what’s funnier: his shock at the idea of wanting a second bout after a scant two hours, or his confidence that straight people in general only want it every few months (because it’s that satisfying). I’m grateful to him for writing that. Every time I get disheartened by an especially vicious opponent, I remind myself, Thank God I don’t have to live in that person’s head.
That is just stunningly stupid. I mean… REALLY?!
I don’t know how you can stand to even read that crap. That you have the fortitude to keep going back impresses me.
Chili: clearly, the conservative comments are so psychologically unsatisfying that he needs to keep going back for more.
Going by that guy’s rulebook, my straight friends must be getting really crap sex. My gay friends are evidently a little luckier.

When I read comments such as the one you quoted, I’m convinced that many of those conservatives are meth addicts. How else could someone come up with those ideas unless they were on serious, hard-core drugs?
Trust me. Having kids is what controls the frequency of sex. I have four of them. So, I know what a sex life is like before kids and after kids. This holds true whether the parents are a gay couple like me or a straight couple. You are either too tired or have absolutely no privacy. It’s hard to really maintain the mood when a 10 year old is banging on the door asking “What are you doing? What’s for lunch?”
oh… the comments are the funniest part of most news articles. People’s ignorance and backasswards ways are clearly displayed. And I love to poke fun at idiotic comments.
I’m also amazed at how easily wingnuts can declaim about what goes on inside gay people’s heads. “It’s a choice” is only ever heard from people who never made the choice. “They aren’t satisfied by gay sex” from people who’ve never had it. “Wriggling their penises around in excrement” from a fat old straight woman who’s probably never had buttsechs in her life and has missionary sex with her husband once or twice a year and feels ashamed afterward because Jesus hates it.
Accepting, for a minute, the premise that gay boys have more sex, my stepdad has a theory: Guys are guys are guys, and if straight guys could call the shots, they’d be having just as much sex as we are.
Is this nut speaking from experience? I mean really, psychological satisfaction is only achieved from sex and on top of that only hetero – sexual relations.
One of the biggest issues I have is that same sex relations are viewed by so many only from a sexual perspective. All relationships are complex and multi faceted. This is one of the stupidest things I have ever read!
