I’ve upgraded the comments functionality.  I may continue experimenting, but this is what I’ve done so far: 

I watched the Rally to Restore Sanity on TiVO and I skipped through a lot of it. But I wish I’d been in crowd when Jon Stewart said,

We can have animus without being enemies.

I wanted to see the rallygoers murmur to each other, “He wants us to have enemas?”

Because I am that immature.

Phase 1.  Denounce the deficit.

Phase 2.  ???

Phase 3.  Budget Balanced!

Also, something about underpants.

Anti-gay activists want to duck responsibility for anti-gay bullying and teen suicide. They occasionally veer into sheer lunacy, as when they claim gay teens are in despair because society is too accepting of homosexuality. But there’s one dodge I find particularly offensive. This is revised version of an earlier post, which some people found offensive.  I try not to worry about offending people (I hate this increasingly popular notion that to offend someone is to do them harm), but in this case the rhetorical device seemed to overshadow the point itself.
