Desperate, Maggie?

Maggie Gallagher must really be struggling in her search for good news. She posted this yesterday:

Gay marriage advocates are now hoping for a technical knockout — for the 9th Circuit to rule that the voters of California have no standing to challenge Walker’s ruling. This may be a sign they understand how extreme and [...]

Video from the Ruth Institute Protest

I found this today on the Web. I make a 5-second cameo at 1 minute, 18 seconds.

“Gender no longer forms an essential part of marriage.” OH MY!

Oh, the “traditional” marriage people are upset.  So upset.  And this sentence from Judge Walker’s ruling on Prop 8 has them especially upset:

I Think We're Safe

The Ruth Institute, NOM’s college-oriented anti-gay offshoot, offers this slogan on their Facebook page:

Join us as we make MARRIAGE COOL AGAIN!

Airport Marriott.  The Ruth Institute is part of the National Organization for Marriage.  Its goal is to indoctrinate college students with lies about gay and lesbian relationships turn college students into “traditional” marriage advocates.  Ruthers were at the Marriott for their [...]

Quote of the Day

Proponents had a full opportunity to provide evidence in support of their position and nevertheless failed to present even one credible witness on the government interest in Prop 8.

That’s what Judge Walker wrote in his decision to (sort of) lift the stay on his Prop 8 verdict and allow same-sex marriages to proceed.

Why “sort of”? [...]

Oh Ben, You're So Butch

I’ve taken this campaign ad from Ben Quayle (yep, Dan’s boy) and given it the tiniest tweak. See if you can spot it.

Jesus and Anti-Gay Animus

Judge Walker’s decision to strike down Prop 8 is based partly on these two findings:

Supporters of the ban failed to establish any rational basis for singling out gay men for discrimination.
The ban was based on animus or disgust for gays, along with a belief that same-sex relationships are simply inferior to their opposite-sex [...]
