Oh, the “traditional” marriage people are upset.  So upset.  And this sentence from Judge Walker’s ruling on Prop 8 has them especially upset:

Gender no longer forms an essential part of marriage; marriage under law is a union of equals.

Proponents had a full opportunity to provide evidence in support of their position and nevertheless failed to present even one credible witness on the government interest in Prop 8.

That’s what Judge Walker wrote in his decision to (sort of) lift the stay on his Prop 8 verdict and allow same-sex marriages to proceed.

Judge Walker’s decision to strike down Prop 8 is based partly on these two findings:

Supporters of the ban failed to establish any rational basis for singling out gay men for discrimination.
The ban was based on animus or disgust for gays, along with a belief that same-sex relationships are simply inferior to their opposite-sex [...]
